Monument

Any machine that cannot be moved to a cell. Material must leave the cell to be processed by the monument. Examples include ovens, mills and other machine tools that are larger than needed, often because of the need for a thicker foundation or a pit. Other examples of monuments include grit blast rooms, autoclaves, VPI tanks and steam cleaning rooms. Every effort should be made to replace monuments with right-sized machines that can be located near other equipment necessary for the process.
