A production method in which product moves slowly past production resources rather than the conventional production methods in which the production resources are brought to the product. Henry Ford created the first large scale moving line for his Model Ts, and the moving line is still the most common production method for automobiles. Recently, moving lines have been established in the manufacture of most types of products, and even in the repair of military aircraft.
